The Task

As a bilingual person (who speaks Arabic and English), this project aims to introduce a third language (French) as a way to encourage people to learn about the similarities and differences that exist between the two cultures (Lebanese and French).

The deck illustrates commonly used metaphoric expressions from both cultures. The game is played by acting out an expression in either language while other players try to guess the phrase. Its equivalence is illustrated in the opposite direction with the respective phrase. At the back of each card, the players can find the English meaning to understand the context. This creates a fun and interactive way to engage players and gain more insight into how each culture thinks and uses its language.
