From Light to Life invites us to concentrate and notice life through the eyes of plants; heroes of the endotic, the unseen and the mundane. Written from the point of view of a plant, the script describes the very experience of being a plant in human terms. The choice of poetry aims to emotionally engage audiences, to trigger them to notice what they usually don't, and to complement the abstractness of the UV photographs in an attempt to shift our perspective on life.

The light hit my skin.
It’s morning. I awake.
What you can’t see, I can taste. Ultraviolet breakfast.
Fed by frequencies, I digest light.

My veins are throbbing.
Do you hear my heart beat?
I’m aroused. I mate.
Volatile reproduction.
Our love is unspoken.
We talk in chemical tongues.

Fellow fighters. Friends and foes. Seeking survival we battle.
Arm in arm. Limb against limb.
We weaponize our bodies.
Danger. Stress. Signal. Sense.
We exchange our strength.

My will breaks through concrete. Softly. Silently. Effortlessly.
My song ripples in waves.
Grounded, I feel every vibration.
My memories flow like a river. Millennia after millennia.

Born from myself.
Mothered by earth.
I choose life.
